re:treat is a modern psychotherapy practice in Los Angeles founded by Dr. Courtnay Meletta and shaped by a carefully selected team of therapists.
We created re:treat for people looking for therapy that goes beyond the surface — work that makes space for the complexity of who you are, how you came to be who you are, and what may be getting in the way of living and relating differently.
Our therapists bring their own perspectives, specialties, and ways of working. What they share is curiosity, strong clinical judgment, relational presence, and a willingness to work with the complexity of the whole person.
Meet Dr. Courtnay Meletta
founder & clinical director
Dr. Courtnay founded re:treat to create the kind of psychotherapy practice she wanted to refer people to — clinically thoughtful, deeply human, integrative, and never one-size-fits-all.
Her own work spans relational, psychodynamic, somatic, and mind-body traditions, but re:treat was never intended to replicate one therapist’s way of working. Courtnay remains closely involved in selecting clinicians, supervising the clinical work, and shaping the sensibility of the practice as a whole.
Our approachre:treat was built around a particular idea of what really good therapy can be: thoughtful and clinically grounded, but also deeply human, relational, and attentive to what happens beyond words.
For us, that means more than a modality. It requires a therapist who can think broadly, relate deeply, notice what isn’t being said, attend to the body, and help insight become lived change.
We draw from a range of therapeutic traditions and approaches, spanning contemplative, relational, somatic, and evidence-based practices.
But we don’t believe the modality is the therapy.
These frameworks are tools—not formulas—and we use them in service of the person in front of us. The client comes before any single method or theoretical orientation.
Depending on the therapist and the needs of the client, our work may draw from Somatic Psychotherapy—including Core Energetics, Radical Aliveness, Somatic Experiencing, and the Hakomi Method—as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Psychodynamic and Depth Psychology, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based trauma work, polyvagal-informed nervous system regulation, hypnosis and generative trance, mindfulness-based Buddhist Psychology, spiritual counseling, and Yoga Therapy.
FAQs
Is therapy right for me?The relationship with your therapist matters. When you reach out, we’ll learn a little about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and any preferences you have. From there, we can help connect you with a therapist whose experience, approach, and personality may be a good fit.
How do I choose a therapist?Start with a complimentary consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions, and help you determine the best next step. If there’s a fit, we’ll connect you with a therapist and schedule your first session.
How do I get started? You don’t need to be in crisis—or know exactly what you want to work on—to begin therapy. People come to us for many reasons: anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, life transitions, trauma, or simply the feeling that something in their life isn’t working the way they want it to. We can help you think through what kind of support might make sense.
